HORSEFLY FILMS - OUR M I S S I O N

Whatever your equestrian business, seeing your horses in action is a vital and compelling part of your ranch image. Showing your potential clients that you are serious about your horses, means creating a marketing campaign to promote them at their best. Horsefly Films video filmmaking services have been sucessfully promoting horses worldwide.

Horsefly Films believes that Exquisite Equine Filmmaking means creating spectacular, beautiful, compelling video images of your horse that challenge and inspire the viewer. We firmly believe that still photography and videography are two entirely different art forms with entirely different uses within a successful marketing campaign. Using both moving footage and stills, a truly great video should convey the dramatic & emotional essence of the horse and elevate them to living, breathing, moving works of art.  Exquisite Equine Filmmaking delivers something larger-than-life: making the horse "fly" and truly reflecting their mythical status.

Spectacular equine video is certainly always first and foremost about the horse, but it is also about much more.  It is about selling a brand and selling a winner in the hearts and minds of the audience.   The brand of your horse, your breeding program, your ranch.  Ultimately a Horsefly Films video leaves viewers breathless and excited and saying “I want one of those horses in my barn!”

MORE ABOUT HORSEFLY FILMS and OUR EXPERIENCE:

We shoot, edit, design and deliver DVD videos on SD or HD, with professional sound mixes, titling, label design as well being able to output all web and iphone streaming formats.

At Horsefly Films we pride ourselves on being the best in the business. Together we have over twenty years in the Hollywood film industry as professional award-winning filmmakers, videographers, writers, producers and editors. In addition to Sophie’s impressive resume as a director, videographer and filmmaker, Jen has worked extensively in Public Relations and marketing for high profile clients Elvis Presley, The Golden Globe Awards, Moet & Chandon champagne and Wolfgang Puck. Jen has also worked as a Music Supervisor, allowing her to help create a dynamic, beautiful video in terms of both sight and sound.

With Horsefly Films, Sophie and Jen’s passions for and expertise in horses and filmmaking have come together. We have a great eye and a fabulous sense of style, and yes, while we are women, we are physically tough, strong and capable-- just ask Sophie how it was filming her latest documentary in Antarctica, the most extreme location in the world!

As a girl, Jen grew up with Arabians. She wrote fan letters to the likes of Sheila Varian and the Jack Tone Ranch, papering the walls of her bedroom with posters of the greats Fadjur, Khemosabi, Bay Abi & Bay el Bey. She studied bloodlines and memorized pedigrees, something she still does today. She eventually found her way into the world of Spanish horses when she met and married her husband, a member of the famous Sierra family of Paso Fino trainers.

Today she enjoys her Paso Fino, Sonador, a wedding gift from her husband. All of Jen’s knowledge and love of horses helps her to create the finest equine videos, no matter the breed.

Sophie grew up in England and her first experience with horses was when her grandfather took her for riding lessons at the local pony club. Sophie was far too wild for the stodgy club set, enjoying galloping her horse with the wind in their hair. When she moved to the US, she was finally able to have a horse of her own and she worked for two years as a trail guide astride her trusty Thoroughbred, Stinger. Today Sophie enjoys dressage, trail riding and just about anything else that can be done from the back of a horse. Sophie recently filmed the famous and extremely rare Marwari horses of Rajasthan India, a unique opportunity to see (and ride!) these incredible horses up close.
